I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand the users being designed for and their needs. A primary user group identified through research was working adults who don't have time to physically go to a sushi restaurant to have the full authentic sushi experience.

This user group confirmed initial assumptions about some sushi restaurant lovers, but also revealed a whole new group of sushi goers that was never thought of , thus bringing insight into the many different types of sushi enthusiasts out there.

Real-Time Order Status
Once an order is placed, customers can see in real-time where their order is down to each individual item. The customers can trust that their items will be as fresh as possible and the restaurant is kept accountable as well.
"The Usual"
In addition to creating an account, the ordering flow includes a "The Usual" option for those regulars who know exactly what they want and efficiently want to order the usual items they order. It gives customers the feel of being remembered and connected.
Sushi Education

One of the coolest parts of a sushi omakase experience is learning about the different sushi that the sushi chef is presenting. You feel confidence as you eat, have a deeper understanding as you eat, and leave the experience knowing a little more about the art of sushi. The app provides concise yet detailed information on the different items on the menu to emulate the experience.
